U.S Vice President Joe Biden visited Guatemala

U.S. Vice president Joe Biden visited Guatemala for two days. The reason to visit Guatemala is to provide funds to slow down the migration. Last month, President Barack Obama include $1 billion for Central America in the budget request he sent to Congress. Through the proposed investment, the U.S. hopes to reduce the high level of migration from Central America to the United Sates that has occurred in recent years.

Presidents of those countries are proposing project that would spur economic development and improve security. Lack of economic opportunity and surging levels of violence, and drug trafficking in Guatemala. Besides Mexico, Guatemala  is consider one of the most important countries  for the Drug cartels to send cocaine to United States.

However, the main reason why U.S. Vice president Joe Biden went to Guatemala is to let them know that If they want to keep receiving  more financial support against the drug cartels and boost up your economy they have extend the period of time of the  CICIG  in Guatemala. The CICIG is a international commission against impunity.  The Vice president came to this country to put some pressure  to the Guatemalan's President to keep this commission alive and don't try to get rid of it. A few months ago, the president was announcing the end of the time for the CICIG.   In others words, the president said that we do not need foreign commission to rule our country.
